Are there differences between "cat people" and "dog people"?

On a recent radio interview, we discussed with the host the differences we have observed between people who came to the ANGEL CATS and the ANGEL DOGS book events.  Of course, these are generalities, but you
may find them fun and interesting.

Prior to one of the cat events, people bought the book, and it even sold out in the store.  The manager had to
scramble to gather books from other stores so we would have them.  The "cat people" arrived, milled around the back, and didn't sit in the chairs until we started and they had checked us out thoroughly.  During the event, they
were quiet and didn't interact much with each other.  We had to keep it short or risk losing their attention.  Afterwards, some didn't get their book signed but left with books in hand, looking satisfied.

For the dog book event, people arrived early and eager but didn't buy the book ahead of time.  They sat down in
the chairs right away and talked up a storm with people they didn't know.  During the event, they were so attentive
that it seemed as if a spell had been cast over them.  They told stories with enthusiasm.  Afterwards, most had their books signed.  Later, they told many friends about the book.

What do you think?  Are there differences between "cat people" and "dog people"?
