We were talking to someone this week about a terrific but little-known relief for migraine headaches -- a cat's purr.
In our book ANGEL CATS, we wrote about a study by Elizabeth von Muggenthaler. She's a bioacoustics specialist at Fauna Communications Research Institute in North Carolina. This researcher found that a cat's purr is within the frequency range of 25 to 40 cycles per second (Hz). Exposure to 20 to 50 Hz frequencies increases bone density, relieves pain, and heals muscles.
There are people who claim that if they have a migraine, and a purring cat lies next to their head, it relieves the headache.

In 1997 I had a heart attack that required a bypass operation (5 in all). My cat Sylvester missed me so much while I was away for over two weeks he sat outside my bedroom door and howled. He only left when it was time to eat, then he'd return to watching the door. When I finally came hom I had to stay in bed for two weeks. I only got up to take little walks around the house and he would follow me. We had a very special bond that no one else seem to understand. When I got into bed and got comfortable he stayed away from the staples in chest and instead stayed at my feet. He would purr loudly and it was very soothing especially at night. He was a great comfort to me and I knew he had genuine concern for me. He turned into a totally different cat. Once I was feeling better and walking around on my own he more or less stayed away. But I'll never forget his attitude and caring. Not even my own family care as much as he did!

DaVinci said "the eyes are to window to the soul". He wasn't necessarily talking about only humans. When I look into this cat's eyes I see emotion and caring. He's a prime example of how a car can bring comofrt just thru their actions and sounds. He's beautiful!
